The Corps Network Pledges to Help Get “Every Kid in a Park”

Every Kid in a Park campaign designed to inspire the next generation of cultural and environmental stewards; expand access to National Parks and other Federal Sites

WASHINGTON, DC - The Corps Network, the National Association of Service and Conservation Corps, is proud to announce our pledge to support the “Every Kid in a Park Campaign,” an initiative to inspire the next generation of cultural and environmental stewards and make it easy for parents, teachers, and organizations to plan trips to more than 2,000 parks and Federal land and water sites.

This new campaign supports President Obama’s Every Kid in a Park initiative, which provides the Nation’s fourth graders, their teachers, and their families with free admission to national parks and other federal lands, waters, and historic sites.

The Every Kid in a Park Campaign was announced by the White House as part of National Parks Week 2016, and celebrates the centennial of our national parks system. The online web portal EveryKidinaPark.org [now available in English and Spanish] makes it easy for parents and teachers to find resources to plan a visit to national parks and other historic sites and learn about the Every Kid in a Park pass, which grants free admission to 4th graders and their families to our nation’s public lands.

“We are proud to support Every Kid in a Park and its goal of expanding access to our national parks to all young people across the country,” said Mary Ellen Sprenkel, CEO of The Corps Network. “This campaign parallels the mission of Corps to engage the next, more diverse generation of conservation and community leaders in protecting our public lands and waters. Public lands are for everyone; we pledge to support Every Kid in a Park to ensure that young people have access to parks and that generations to come will value and protect our natural and cultural resources.”

The Corps Network is asking its members to make their own pledges to get #EveryKidinaPark. Participants can make their pledges at EveryKidinaPark.org.  Each participant will receive a pledge badge image to share on social media and will be encouraged to share their support and ask their friends and families to take the pledge too.
