National Service and Americorps
The Corps Network and Service and Conservation Corps are major participants in AmeriCorps and other National Service programs. This funding helps Corps to offer more young people positions on their crews, get more projects done, and serve the pressing needs of their communities in an extremely cost effective manner.
While the Edward Kennedy Serve America Act of 2009 expanded National Service programs, the government agency that administers these programs, the Corporation for National & Community Service, has recently been threatened with elimination by some members of Congress. As a member of the Voices for National Service and Save Service in America Coalitions, The Corps Network advocates on behalf of National Service programs. We strive to make the need and value of National Service appreciated by all federal legislators and citizens, regardless of political affiliation.
